RELEASE INFORMATION

Last month we released a separate program call "Multibank gasmixer". It the same component as the gasmixer in the desktop versions of GAP, ANDI-GAP Diveplanner and the NAUI-GAP Diveplanner. The "Multibank gasmixer" can be downloaded from

http://www.gap-software.com/download/software.html#gasmixer

The best part of it, ITS FREE.............

For a complete specification and capabilities check the page at:

Build 1655 is released for all products for the desktop. For this release we fixed the following items:

  • CNS and OTU calculations were to high in Imperial mode.
  • ANDI , NAUI and GAP products can be installed on the same computer. This implies that the serial has to be filled in again. For customers that do not have it written down a keyfinder program has been added to find it for you.
  • The NAUI version had the same conservatism setting for RGBM Classic +1, this is fixed.
  • A number of small UI items fixed.
  • A keyfinder is introduced to enable user to find their old serial number for use in this release.

GAP-Lite: 1.2.7 released, This version has two major fixes.

  • The serial can now survive a hardreset: so no need to ask for a new key. This is only for new PDA's
  • Buhlmann + GF code has been updated
  • Sporadic high CNS figures has been fixed.

History update: This is the expedition that convinced ANDI-International to use RGBM and GAP as replacement for their old ANDI- diveplanner.

Excerpts Manado expedition

” In May 2004 a team of ANDI’s top (American Nitrox Divers International, Ltd.) divers traveled to Indonesia to explore the depths between 125 and 150 meters on the slope of Manado Tua Island (North Sulawesi).”

“The ANDI team used their own proprietary software to plan, calculate and log these dives in the 500 fsw range. This cutting-edge software is now commercially available under the trade name ANDI-GAP DivePlanner.”

Check out the website of ANDI http://www.andihq.com/pages/events.html

We are mentioned in a german dive magazine. Germany is just starting a new sports diving course with Triox and offcourse GAP software is used for the decompression calculations.

We received the new update proofprint of the book

Diving Physics With Bubble Mechanics And Decompression Theory In Depth.

from Bruce Wienke and YES we are mentioned again. You can buy the book at Best Publishing , which have by the way many more interesting books on all aspects of diving. Best Publishing can be found at: http://www.bestpub.com/

This month we had the sad news that Merrill Spencer past away.

See what Mike Powell has to say about it

Death

It is with sorrow that I report the death of Merrill Spencer, MD. He was instrumental in the development of Doppler ultrasound bubble detection for diving. Many dive tables can trace their origins to this procedure. It was in his laboratory that I learned many valuable techniques, and I am most grateful for his tutelage and mentorship. Throughout his life, he applied his expertise to research and prevention of stroke and worked up until his death on this medical problem. Michael Powell [Dr Deco]

There is also a new addition to the deco theory section:

Recent neurochemical basis of inert gas narcosis and pressure effects.

Thats all for this time.
