Installation gives a msi error 2203

  • Sometimes a virus scanner will not allow an installation. stop the virus scanner and start the install again. After installation you can start the virus scanner again.
  • Give full permissions to all users for the Program Files folder
    1. Right-click on My Computer and then click Explore .
    2. Expand the C: tree by clicking on the plus (+ ) sign next to it.
    3. Right-click on the Program Files folder, and then click Properties .
    4. If there is a check or a green box in the Read-only box , clear the box by clicking on it. If the box is already unchecked, close the Properties box and the Explorer window.
    5. Click Apply , then select Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files , and then click OK .
    6. Re-install the software.

Reversal to trial version after update.

 

Older 3.0 version had their license file at a personal place within the windows system.
For the enabling of the usage of The Diveplanner version under all accounts we had to change the location.  If you have after an update a version that is in expired trail mode you can do the following.
 
Replace the GAP with your version NAUI, ANDI in the recept below
 

under windows 7, Vista:
 

       Find the GAP.lic file in
                 c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\GAP-Diveplanner\GAP.lic

       move it to
                 c:\ProgramData\GAP-Diveplanner\GAP.lic
 
       eventually make the GAP-Diveplanner directory under
       ProgramData if it does not exists
 

under XP:

       Find the gap.lic file in
                  C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\GAP-Diveplanner\GAP.lic
      
       move it to
                  C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\GAP-Diveplanner\GAP.lic
